The "Electric Vehicle with Capacitor as Energy" project carried out the design and matching of the electrical system and overall structure of the full-capacity electric vehicle, and studied the vehicle control technology, motor and control technology and energy management technology suitable for the full-capacity electric vehicle. Breakthroughs and innovations have been achieved in vehicle control technology, electric drive technology, and capacitance management equalization technology. The vehicle control takes into account the driving and riding requirements of the bus working conditions and the improvement of the energy brake recovery efficiency. The electric drive system realizes the speed smooth control of the wide voltage supply range, and the capacitor management unit realizes the balanced management of the capacitor charging and discharging, improving Capacitor life and reduced failure. The expert group believes that electric vehicles with capacitors as energy have no pollution, zero emissions and good low temperature characteristics. They are suitable for bus operation in northern cities and have good market prospects and social benefits. The research has reached international advanced level in terms of driving range and maximum speed of electric vehicles with capacitors as energy sources.

The Feidu Capacitor Equalization Principle and the State Tracking Intermittent On/Off Equalization Control Algorithm used in the “Capacitor Energy-Based Super Capacitor Group Equilibrium Management System for Electric Vehicles” realize the dynamic balance of the single capacitor voltage in different states. . The control strategy plays an important role in preventing overcharge and overdischarge, which can effectively extend the service life of the supercapacitor and reduce the use cost of the electric vehicle. The deviation between the unit capacitance and the mean value within the group can be equalized to less than 1.5%. The prototype of this system has been applied to super-capacitance electric buses, meeting the special requirements of "electric vehicles with capacitors as energy". The expert group believes that the system's equilibrium control strategy is innovative for the vehicle supercapacitor group balance management, and the research results are at the domestic leading level.

High-efficiency vehicle drive is realized by the technology of braking energy feedback, permanent magnet plus constant current magnetic flux adjustment, advanced non-destructive buffer type soft switching, and the like. With energy feedback braking, it is conducive to saving energy and increasing driving range under limited vehicle energy conditions. The expert group believes that the research results are at the leading level in China.
