Reporter: What is the significance of the advent of CA6DL-Aowei to Liberation and FAW?

Yan Yanfeng: The decision on the CA6DL project was made six years ago and the project started four years ago. At that time, the project caused a lot of controversy, but we decided to choose to develop independently. The CA6DL engine will launch a series of products covering 250 horsepower to 350 horsepower. In 2004, it will match the "liberation" truck and meet with the public.

For FAW Group, the development of CA6DL is a strategic choice. The dry car, the engine is the core, has its own core power is a core manifestation of independent development. In the development of CA6DL, we are not reclusive, but open and cooperative. It is an integration of international resources, making full use of international resources, but the director is our main engine factory. What is more important is not that we have obtained a product. Instead, through this new successful practice, we have achieved the requirements of “putting out products, talents, mechanisms, and systems” and have explored a new “open, cooperative, and independent development”. Reporter: What is the status of "liberation" in the entire FAW Group's strategy?

Yan Yanfeng: I told you three sets of data: First, there are 120,000 people in the FAW Group, 70,000 people are dry trucks, and they are driven by trucks. Second, at present, the “liberation” share of the Chinese truck market has reached 50%; Third, the nationwide logistics centered on “liberating” the brand, which accounts for one-third of the national road transport industry. After reading these three sets of data, I don’t think I need to say anything about the “liberation” status of FAW Group.

Reporter: Now, Dongfeng and Nissan, CNHTC and VOLVO, Mercedes-Benz and BAIC are all collaborating on the truck project. Is there a plan for the "liberation" of joint ventures?

Yan Yanfeng: "Liberation" does not exclude joint ventures and cooperation. Our slogan is "open cooperation, independent development." It should be noted that "cooperation" includes two layers of meaning: one is to be united and the other is to have something. It is meaningless for companies to combine photosynthetically and do nothing. Our guiding ideology on "liberating" trucks is that if we can make a difference, we will walk on our own.

Xu Jianyi, the deputy general manager of FAW Group, added: “In 2002, the sales volume of trucks with more than 4 tons of trucks in the world was 1.8 million, and our country was nearly 500,000, accounting for more than 25% of the global market share. Therefore, the Chinese truck market and the sedan market are very The big difference is that its scale can support the idea of ​​a company to go out of its own path and support independent development."

Xu Jianyi said that in the field of trucks, various resources accumulated in China for many years are relatively abundant. "Liberation" has a slogan: Trucks are money-making machines. Because in the Chinese market, consumers buy trucks and they are expected to use it to make money. Therefore, they do not have much desire for surplus functions and super value. In product development, manufacturers can meet consumer demand as long as they are one step ahead of the market. In this sense, only Chinese companies have the best knowledge of the Chinese market and Chinese consumers. He said: "FAW has also talked with Mercedes-Benz, but the more talked about it, the more they want to do it themselves. The principle that we insist is that cooperation is possible, but you must not limit how we do it. In terms of business development, we must be able to count."

At present, FAW's goal for "liberation" is to use 8 to 10 years to build "liberation" into a world-renowned national brand and enter the world market. To this end, FAW established FAW Jiefang Co., Ltd. on January 18 this year, and will invest 7.3 billion yuan to enhance the "liberation" of strength.
